Automobiles in German City Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities mentioned they were notified by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.

Police then discovered many other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report early analysis show the substance was most likely human blood.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any physical harm in relation with the event," they added.

Local authorities stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the public for information.

A high-ranking political figure stated the vandalism left him without words and required to be resolved quickly.

"This act hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter aiming at residents of migrant background in February 2020.
